Why does Jesus send us into the world?

To be His "disciples" means that we are "followers" of Jesus. We seek to know Him and to obey Him with our entire lives. We are focused on living in ways that reflect His goodness and His ways.

The Great Commission

Jesus said, "Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to everyone" (Mark 16:15).  We have the joy and responsibility as a community of His disciples of sharing this good news! Jesus said, "Freely you received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8). So we seek to give others the beautiful joy of knowing Jesus as the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Master of all creation, and our Great Rescuer. He rescued us from our own self-destructive ways, re-created us from the inside out by His Holy Spirit, and brought us into lives that are joyfully focused more on eternity than on this broken sin-filled world. We have an eternal life of fellowship with God that has begun now in this life, but will continue in perfection in eternity, in a place called heaven. Not merely a utopia, but a place of perfect union and harmony with God, humans, angels, and our stunningly beautiful environment as we live lives of perfect unity, great productivity, and deep and everlasting purpose. Forever.

Jesus issued the "Great Commission" command for us all to go "make disciples". This is a key focus of Abba's Family, to come alongside of others to help them find new life in Jesus, and walk with them as they begin and mature in their path of following Jesus as His disciples. We like to say that "We are disciples who make disciples who make disciples who make disciples, etc." In this way, though the love of God for one another and in the power of the Holy Spirit within us, we become effective instruments of God to be used in His ever expanding eternal kingdom of love, life, and glory.

Would you like to join us on this journey?

HERE are some of the key ways that we serve others and assist in their own discipleship as they follow Jesus with their lives too. Together.
